Ikarus Profi Gyro
I'm not going to get into the good or bad of this gyro or any
other. I have the Profi, which some people like and some people
don't. What I want to point out here is a problem I was
experiencing and didn't understand. (HarRomeo) pointed it out.
I had the gyro mounted vertically on the left size rear of my heli.
And I placed it with the label face up. Makes sense. But it
didn't appear to work. I tried to adjust it, but I didn't
really notice any difference. In some posts it was pointed out that
you need to have your heli in flight. Well, since I'm not ready
for flight, I just turned down the sensitivity. I'd worry about
it later. Well, Har started twisting the heli quickly and said the
gyro isn't working. He then started raising and dropping the
tail up and down. Now the tail servo was reacting. So, the gyro did
function (and on the ground). What he determined was I had to turn
the gyro 90 degrees so that it would function.

I assumed that it would be set to work face up. It's not. You
should be able to sit your heli on the bench and twist the gyro
around on it's different axises til you get it to respond. Then
you know how to mount it.
Another point to make, my gyro was running in reverse. You are
provided a jumper with the gyro that will reverse it. But I
couldn't find where to plug the jumper in. What I needed to do
was remove the front panel of the gyro and with an exacto knife,
but the opening for the jumper.
