90 Degree vs. 120 Degree Swashplate
A 90 degrees swashplate uses 3 or 4 servos (most likely 3) to
control the helicopter. If you have the stock platic swashplate
that comes with your Eco 8, then you can only set up for 90 degree.
You will see that there are 4 ball links on your swash and they are
spaced 90 degrees apart, hence, 90 degrees. With a 90 degree swash,
you can use either mechanical or electronic mixing.
A 120 degree swashplate uses 3 servos to control your helicopter.
You will see that the 120 degree swashplate has ball links at 120
degrees from each other, hence 120 degree. To use 120 degree setup
on your Eco-8, you need to purchase the aluminum swashplate. The
aluminum swashplate has the option to use either 90 degree and 120
degree. Most people using the aluminum swashplate are set up for
120 degree, and are using electronic mixing.
